Student Fee Committee

The Student Fee Committee (SFC) is responsible for allocating student fees to create each year's budget. They are comprised of eight students. The Student Fee Committee consists of 8 students. The Chair and six members are elected during ASPSU general elections by the student body. The eighth member is appointed by the ASPSU Student Body President.

They receive annual budget proposals for all of the student groups on campus, as well as several other student fee-funded internal organizations like Campus Rec, and allocate out funds. The SFC is authorized by Oregon state law with the sole authority to decisions relevant to student fees which are assessed during the tuition process. The SFC decides the amount of fees and how they are to be collected, used and accounted for. This is done so in accordance with Oregon statutes and the Administrative Rules of the State Board of Higher Education.

The average student takes around twelve credits per term and pays somewhere around $220 in student fees, so multiplied by the number of students at PSU, that puts the total amount of money available somewhere in the range of eleven to thirteen million dollars.
